ABOUT THE M1 APPSTORE

1. What is the M1 AppStore?

The M1 AppStore enables developers to offer applications to M1 customers through a single storefront and charge customers through the M1 bill; terms and conditions apply.


2. Who can upload applications to the M1 AppStore?
Companies and Individuals can upload applications to the M1 AppStore. Interested developers can register via the M1 AppStore Developer’s Portal (http://appstore.m1.com.sg/developer) after reading and accepting the terms and conditions online. For developers registered as an “Individual”, please forward a copy of your NRIC or passport to us. For developers registered as a “Company”, please forward a copy of your ACRA business profile for Singapore companies or proof of company registration for non-Singapore companies to us. M1 will process your application within 7 working days.


3. What is the registration/subscription fee payable to join the M1 AppStore as a developer?
You do not need to pay any registration/subscription fee.



ABOUT THE APPLICATIONS


1. Are the applications available worldwide?

With the exception of iPhone applications which may be restricted to certain locations for downloads as decided by Apple, all applications in the M1 AppStore can be downloaded by M1 mobile customers anywhere, even if they access the service outside Singapore.


2. Who owns the license of the applications?
Ownership of applications rests with the developers. Developers who upload applications to the M1 AppStore must warrant that they are the rightful owners of the applications.


3. What are the platforms that the M1 AppStore supports?
The M1 AppStore supports applications that run on Java, Symbian, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and iPhone.


4. How much can I price my applications?
Developers are free to set the prices of their applications from S$0.00 (free) to S$50.00 (inclusive of GST). Due to billing and taxation regulations, certain prices may not be supported. In such cases, the M1 AppStore will recommend the next closest price possible.

6. What are some of the features on the consumer portal that will help our applications to gain exposure?

7. What are the guidelines on the kind of contents that I can upload?

The contents in the applications have to comply with The Voluntary Code for Self-regulation of Mobile Content in Singapore. The code is jointly developed by M1, SingTel Mobile and StarHub Mobile. It serves to assure the public of our commitment and support for protecting minors from accessing undesirable content from the Internet via mobile phones. Details of the code may be found in here.

8. Can I upload applications that are in another language other than in English?
Yes, you may upload applications in other languages as long as they are in compliance with our guidelines. However, please take note that the titles of the applications have to be in English.

9. Is there an exclusivity clause on the applications uploaded to the M1 AppStore?
No, there is no exclusivity clause imposed on the applications.


ABOUT REPORTS AND SETTLEMENT

1. When can I get reports relating to the applications I have uploaded?

For all applications, except iPhone applications, log in to the M1 AppStore Developer’s Portal (http://appstore.m1.com.sg/developer) to view the reports. For applications for iPhone, where available from Apple, a separate report will be sent to you.

2. What is the revenue share amount?
The revenue share based on the retail fee (before GST) is 70% to developers. The prevailing GST in Singapore is 7%.


3. Is there a difference in the revenue share payment if my company is not registered in Singapore?
If M1 is required by law to withhold part of the payments due to you, we will pay you the revenue share amount after deducting the applicable withholding tax amount.
